Permission Sets

Novigem ships with three permission sets. Assign them after installation via Setup > Permission Sets.

Novigem User

For everyone who participates in challenges: sales reps, CSMs, support agents, anyone earning points.

Users can view challenges, badges, and rules (read-only), their own challenge progress, their own point history in the ledger, their own badge awards, their coaching signals, and the leaderboard. They can also subscribe to the Award_Granted__e platform event that drives the celebration component.

Tabs visible: none. Novigem User grants object, field, and Apex access, not tab visibility. Reps see Novigem through the Lightning components you place on their Home page, so no tab is required. If you do want reps opening the Challenges or Badges tabs directly, make those tabs visible on their profile or in a permission set of your own.

Users cannot create, edit, or delete challenges, badges, or rules, and cannot access the Admin Console or settings.

Novigem Manager

New in 1.8.0.

For team leads and sales managers who coach reps but do not configure the program.

Managers get access to Team Pulse, a tab showing each of their direct reports’ engagement status, goal pace, last activity, recent points, and open coaching signals. They can read coaching signals but cannot create, edit, or delete them.

Team Pulse works out who reports to whom from the standard Manager field on the Salesforce User record. If that field is empty, a manager sees an empty Team Pulse.

Managers cannot switch to the all-reps view, run the analysis on demand, or create suggested challenges. Those need Novigem Admin.

Assign Novigem Manager in addition to Novigem User, not instead of it. Managers usually earn points too.

Novigem Admin

For system administrators and program owners who build and manage the gamification program.

Admins get everything in Novigem User, plus the ability to create, edit, and delete Challenges, Rules, and Badges; view and edit all users’ progress and ledger entries; access the Admin Console (protected by the Novigem_Admin_Access custom permission); manage configuration settings; and view the configuration audit log.

Tabs visible: Challenges, Rules, Badges, Badge Awards, Ledger Entries, Challenge Progress, Team Pulse, Novigem Admin.

Admins get the Team Pulse tab without Novigem Manager, and they see more on it: the All reps scope covering every participating rep in the org, the Run analysis now action, and suggested challenges. All three are gated on Novigem_Admin_Access.

Admins should have both permission sets assigned. Novigem Admin adds capabilities on top of Novigem User; it does not replace it.

Assignment

Go to Setup > Permission Sets
Open Novigem Admin, click Manage Assignments, add your admins
Open Novigem User, click Manage Assignments, add your end users
Open Novigem Manager, click Manage Assignments, add your team leads
Admins need both Novigem Admin and Novigem User; managers need both Novigem Manager and Novigem User

The Novigem_Admin_Access custom permission

Access to the Admin Console is gated by a custom permission called Novigem_Admin_Access. It is included in Novigem Admin automatically. If you need to give someone access to the admin area without the full Novigem Admin permission set, you can assign this custom permission independently.
